This test measures levels of the pregnancy hormone hCG in your blood and is commonly used to confirm early pregnancy, monitor its progression, or investigate symptoms like pain or bleeding.
You’ll receive same-day results (for appointments before 12:00, Mon–Fri), along with a 15-minute midwife consultation to interpret your results and advise on next steps. Tests done on Friday after 12:00 or on the weekend won’t get results delivered until Monday.

The CMV test (£75) is sample-only — we do not interpret the results, so please contact us with your referring clinician’s details to arrange it. If you require a referral or interpretation of blood test results, please speak to our friendly reception team about booking an appointment with the relevant consultant. If you are coming in for a pregnancy scan our sonographer will not be able to refer you for a blood test – referrals are only possible by appointment with our Consultant Obstetricians or Gynaecologists.

Do I need a referral for a pregnancy blood test?
Most of our blood tests require a referral from a clinician, but our Beta hCG test does not. Beta hCG can be booked directly, while tests such as the Full Blood Count, Iron or Female Hormone Profile are only available to patients who already have a referral from their healthcare provider.
Please note that if you come in for a pregnancy scan, our sonographer cannot refer you for a blood test. Referrals are only possible by appointment with our Consultant Obstetricians or Gynaecologists.
How much does a Beta hCG blood test cost?
A Beta hCG blood test costs £65 at London Pregnancy Clinic, and this price includes a 15-minute midwife consultation to interpret your results and advise on next steps.
You can book the Beta hCG test online with no referral required. Prices for our other blood tests, such as AMH (£85) or Full Blood Count (£60), are listed in full in the price list above, though interpretation is not included for those tests.
What does a Beta hCG blood test show?
A Beta hCG blood test measures the level of the pregnancy hormone hCG in your blood. It is commonly used to confirm early pregnancy, monitor how a pregnancy is progressing, or help investigate symptoms such as pain or bleeding.
Because it is a simple blood test, it can be a reassuring first step in early pregnancy. Your results are explained during the included midwife consultation so you understand what they mean for you.
How quickly will I get my blood test results?
For Beta hCG, you will receive same-day results if your appointment is before 12:00, Monday to Friday. Tests done on a Friday after 12:00 or over the weekend will have results delivered on the following Monday.
Samples are sent to a partnered laboratory for analysis, and results are shared with you and, on request, with your nominated healthcare provider.
Is interpretation of my results included in the price?
Interpretation is included only for the Beta hCG test, which comes with a 15-minute midwife consultation. For all other blood tests, interpretation is not included in the listed price.

Which pregnancy infection blood tests do you offer?
We offer infection screening blood tests including a CMV (cytomegalovirus) test, toxoplasmosis screening, and a combined TORCH panel that screens for toxoplasmosis, rubella, CMV and herpes simplex. Results are explained by our clinical team.
