About this appointment
A third-trimester scan that combines a late anomaly check with an assessment of your baby's growth and wellbeing. It looks for anomalies that can appear later in pregnancy, especially affecting the brain, heart and kidneys, which earlier scans may not detect. A useful follow-up where the NHS offers no further routine scan. Best performed at 26-29 weeks, before a full check becomes difficult.
