Desislava (Desi) Damyanova-Mushkova is a highly experienced specialist with over a decade of expertise in fetal medicine, obstetric ultrasound, and fertility care. She joined the London Pregnancy Clinic in 2025, bringing with her a strong clinical background, a well-established teaching portfolio, and a warm, patient-centred approach that has earned the trust of countless families.
Desi began her healthcare career with a BSc in Midwifery in Bulgaria. Before fully transitioning into clinical practice, she also completed a Diploma in Business Management and Administration—developing a valuable skill set in organisation, communication, and decision-making. Her multidisciplinary background gives her a unique perspective when supporting patients through emotionally and medically significant moments.
Her clinical expertise was further enhanced by a prestigious fellowship in Fetal Medicine at the Harris Birthright Centre, King’s College Hospital. She also undertook additional advanced training in fetal cardiac assessment, with a particular focus on congenital heart disease (CHD) across all pregnancy trimesters.
Before joining LPC, Desi held a senior role at University College London Hospital (UCLH), where she performed a wide range of advanced prenatal ultrasound scans. She also served as a faculty member and ultrasound supervisor on the UCLH Intermediate and Advanced Practical Course in Obstetric Scanning and Fetal Medicine—demonstrating both clinical leadership and a passion for education. Over a two-year period, she successfully mentored more than 25 Master’s students from the UCL MSc programme in Obstetric and Fetal Medicine Ultrasound.
